What Happens During Breast Augmentation ?
The procedure typically takes between one and two hours and you will be put under general anesthetic throughout the duration of the breast enlargement procedure. The implants will be inserted through a cut in the crease underneath your breast. A ‘pocket’ for the implant is made either above or below the muscle, depending on what has been decided before the breast augmentation surgery. An adjustable trial implant can be used to ensure that the correct size has been selected. Your follow-up appointment will be given to you before you leave. With regular moisturizing and massage, the scar normally fades to a thin line after 6 to 12 months, but of course results do vary.
